Will teeth with crowns and veneers still decay?

Even the best crowns, veneers, etc. are not as good as natural healthy teeth. All restorations have a wide margin where tooth and restorative material meet. There is still a potential risk for invasion of plaque / bacterial growth, causing teeth to decay.
